As the fast-paced urban spiral of Calgary, the city has been known for its abundance in its beautiful natural landscape. The community tends to be fragmented in terms of the lack of interaction, and sense of belonging.  This project aimed to reintroduce recreational space and nature into land-reserve areas and vacant lands. The landscape of the Rockies was converted into the form of a pavilion. The spaces formed within the pavilion are carefully manipulated to allow flexibility in possible activities of diverse users. Man-made wetlands were likewise incorporated into this project to help facilitate species diversity and natural groundwater filtration. The ultimate goal of the design is to create an interdependent circulation between individuals, communities, plants and animals.
